Business administration apprenticeships are designed for those working as office clerks, team leaders, personal assistants, business development executives and anyone working in an office environment. It will support the development of knowledge and competency in administrative processes, procedures, and information systems. Level 4 specifically explores such areas as strategic planning, teamworking theories and studies, managing risks, resolving issues and managing information systems, making it additionally suitable for those in management or senior positions.
Achievement of this qualification indicates a learner possesses the knowledge required to undertake a business administration role in the workplace.
How does it work?
The business administration programme is delivered through a combination of workplace visits and distance learning.
One of our specialised assessors will take the lead, working around learners and the organisation to schedule visits, train and support the candidates in achieving their qualifications, and ensuring a smooth delivery overall.
What qualifications will be achieved?
The business administration programme utilises apprenticeship funding. Apprenticeship programmes follow a standardised framework, i.e. a combination of qualifications that must be completed in order to successfully achieve. On completion of the programme, candidates will achieve the following qualifications:
- NVQ Diploma in Business Administration
- Diploma in Business Administration
- Essential Communication Skills
- Essential Application of Number Skills
- Essential Digital Literacy Skills
Routes and pathways can be tailored to suit the needs of the learner and employer dependant on job role, duties undertaken and work completed. Exemptions can be made for Essential Skills qualifications dependant on prior attainment. All business administration qualifications are accredited through BIIAB.
24 months maximum. The course can be completed sooner if candidates have prior qualifications that meet the framework requirements.
There are no fixed entry requirements for this programme. All candidates are subject to a robust initial assessment via the Wales Essential Skills Toolkit to assess levels of literacy and numeracy prior to enrolment.
Apprenticeship programmes are fully funded by the Welsh Government and European Social Fund, so there is no cost for the training.
- Must be over the age of 16.
- Must be in full-time employment with a contract to evidence this.
- Must not be in any other education or training.
