If you’re sitting these it’s likely that you’ve already completed the more robust initial assessments: the screeers use the same system. We complete them via the online Wales Essential Skills Toolkit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these tests and can I fail them?
No! These are screeners that simply check the level you’re currently working at. There is no pass/fail mark. The results allow us to give you the correct level of support as you continue your apprenticeship.
Yes. You do. You’ve likely progressed to a new apprenticeship at the same level or higher, which means we need to check on your skills. The screeners will re-assess your level to ensure you’re still getting the right support.
I’ve already done the WEST initial assessments. Do I still need to do these screeners?
Are these the same as the inital assessments?
No. The screeners are quick, ten minute assessments. The initial assessments are far more robust and take much longer.
